My experience with this plugin is that it is simple to use and offers the option to toggle the show and hide in different posts and pages. It is Gutenberg compatible and works with short codes.
The LuckyWP Table of Contents plugin has been installed over 70000 times and har a 5 star rating based on 634 ratings and that makes it the highest rated plugin of the five.

Conclusion
Given the choice of the five different plugins for WordPress and left to have to chose one I feel that it is a hard choice to chose between the LuckyWP TOC plugin and the SimpleTOC plugin.
I have experience from them booth and I guess that only the near future will tell if the one is better then the other.
For this website I have decided to go with the SimpleTOC WordPress plugin and that will be my choice as the number one table of contents plugin for WordPress SEO and Google Adsense optimization.
